The laundry was staffed by about 12 employees and about 40 patients

This led to the main work room on the 1st floor where the clothes would come down from washing on floor 2

Rear of building showing the receiving area

Laundry trucks would go around to the buildings and drop off fresh clothing and linens and pickup the dirty stuff
All the buildings had laundry rooms for sorting and holding everything until the truck came to pick it up
Soiled sheets and clothing were placed in hazard bags and not mixed with the regular dirty laundry

This was the service elevator to carry laundry bags between floors
The dirty laundry would come off the trucks in bags and go right on the elevator to the 3rd floor for sorting

These double doors led to the sterilization room

This was the Sterilization Room, probably for soiled and infectious laundry which was delivered in Hazard bags

Stairway leading down to the Ware House

After being sorted on the the 3rd floor the laundry was sent to floor two for washing

The yellow sign says CAUTION ASBESTOS

This was the loading dock and the room on the right was the Staff and Employee Sorting Room

The first door on the left was for patient clothing and linens delivery.
The middle door was the hallway to the main work room
The end doors were for staff and employee delivery

This was the patient sorting room for patient laundry deliveries that came through the doors on the right

The Laundry building received twice as much steam pressure from the Power House then the rest of the Hospital

Some of the Laundry House staff

This was the main work area for the first floor. The door in the corner was the stairs and next to that Laundry lift

On the left was the Patient Laundry Delivery Room and on the right was the Staff Employee Laundry Delivery Room. The door at the end of the hall lead to the main work area

The doorway in the back lead to the Men's Clothing Room and Male Staff and Patient Bathroom
To the right was the Women's Locker Room and Female Staff Bathroom
The Female Patients Bathroom and Locker Room were in the right corner

Side of building with corner room and loading dock
The glass room on the roof was the Lint Room and filtered the dryer exhaust
