The Fire House had a small office in the front left corner.
Upstairs were eight bedrooms and a double room (top right corner) for the Chief.
Later on the rooms on the second floor were given to the Hospital employees and
patients as apartments
In the bottom left corner was the locker room and above that on the second floor
was the lunch room
There was also a large recreation room and a small lounge on the second floor
This was the hose tower
When I first started working in KP, (1963) I had a room
upstairs in the firehouse. The good thing about that was I always had a date as
Home U was just up the street. All we had to do was get past Mrs. Connick with
the six-pack. She was the house-mom ..Sometimes the girls would lower a bucket
on a rope from the second floor for us to put the six-pack in. Guess Mrs.
Connick knew all along what was going on. We always behaved ourselves. Well
This was the old hand ball courts and was part of the recreation area along with
the tennis courts
Building B used to stand to the north of the fire house and C and D were across
